The new addition, dubbed Clarke’s Court BBQ Donut Boats, was officially launched on early in December during a short ceremony at The Lagoon in St George.

Operations Manager of Banana Boat Tours, Pierre Jean Spinosi stated that he welcomed the addition to the Banana fleet and feels confident the new Donut boats would not only add to the service they provide, but would offer persons quality when out on a cruise.

Pierre Jean added that after five years of service to Grenada, offering both land and sea tours, they felt it was time to welcome new products and new activities to the operation, and therefore, views the Donuts as the ideal investment arriving at the right time for the 2010 tourist season.

With the Donuts, Pierre Jean remarked, visitors can get a ninety-minute cruises for a minimal price, while enjoying a selection of Clarke’s Court products, BBQ and other finger foods.

Pierre Jean added that prior to the launch, he had been getting tremendous response from locals and, therefore, decided that there would be a social party for Grenadians and students wishing to use the boats for birthdays, weddings and other specially organised cruises.

Each boat caters for a maximum of nine persons and tour prices depends on the type of cruise one wants to embark on.

Mr Antoine said his company did not hesitate when approached to be a part of the move, since they viewed it as another opportunity for visitors to better enjoy the beauty of Grenada, while at the same time sampling Grenada’s number one rum - Clarke’s Court.

The boats are managed by German national, Ingo Kamm, the man responsible for getting them into Grenada.  According to Kamm, it is the first time the boats are being used outside Germany, with Grenada being the first country in the English speaking Caribbean to add Donuts to its tourism product.

Ingo Kamm added the judging from the type of reception they have had in Europe and the US, he is confident the Donuts would be great in Grenada.
