Mother of one wins big with Clarke's Court

(L-R) GDL General Manager Ruel Edwards, winner Rodgeria Boney and Customer relations Officer, Ms Anisa Elcock

Tuesday October 11th, 2011 - St. George’s Grenada: She did not want to fill in the voucher because she had never been lucky enough to win anything before. Thanks to her persistent friend, Rodgeria Boney became the first winner in the 2011 Clarke’s Court pre-Christmas promotion.

The 25 year old mother of River Road in St George said that she and her friend had gone to Foodland Supermarket in the City to purchase items including rum because her friend was travelling. She purchased among other things one 750ml bottle each of Clarke’s Court Pure White and Special Dark rums.

When given the voucher, she refused to fill it in as she had never been lucky enough to win anything before. But her friend took the voucher, filled it up and placed it in the Clarke’s Court Branded Box.

Dria, as she is fondly called by friends, said that she did not give it a second thought. She actually believed that it was someone playing a prank on her on Wednesday October 05, when the caller on her mobile phone said, “You just won $500 in cash for purchasing Clarke’s Court products.” Her response was, “Excuse me!”

Rodgeria said she was surprised because she did not even want to take part and thought that she would ever be a winner. Asked what she would do with the five hundred dollars, she responded that she will purchase more Clarke’s Court products for her friend abroad, who she called to share the good news with; and, as she is in the process of purchasing material to build a home for her seven year old daughter and herself, she will use the bulk of it to get material.

“Thanks to Clarke’s Court for giving back to customers during this hard economic time. I will try to put it to good use.”
