Finance Minister at the
distillery during tour |
Tuesday March 29th, 2011 - St. George’s
Grenada:
Honourable
Nazim Burke, Minister for Finance,
accompanied by Mr Christopher De Riggs,
Director, Private Sector Development,
Ministry of Finance conducted a tour of
Grenada Distillers Limited.
This was an
opportunity for the Minister to get a
firsthand view of the operations of
Grenada’s largest distillery, which
produces award winning Clarke’s Court
products. Minister Burke used the visit
to familiarise himself with the
company’s development plans, as well as
the constraints it faces.
Mr Leroy
Neckles, Chairman of the company’s Board
of Directors, along with Mr Fred
Antoine, General Manager; and Mr Michael
Kirton, Production Manager, facilitated
the tour and engaged the Minister in
discussions.
The Finance
Minister extended congratulations to the
company on its plans to diversify into
more agro-industrial products,
undertaking to give consideration to
issues raised during the discussions. |
